India's first bullet train will run from August 15, 2027, Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Thursday. The train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad will be rolled out in phases, with the first section opening from Surat to Bilimora and the second section from Vapi to Surat. The third section of the train will open from Vapi to Ahmedabad.
