Chhattisgarh village, once a Maoist stronghold, gets electricity

A remote village in Chhattisgarh, Irpanar, which was once a Maoist stronghold, has received electricity for the first time after decades without a power supply and basic facilities, officials said on Sunday. Having relied on lanterns and firewood for years, the villagers described the moment as historic. Around 10 families will benefit from the electrification, officials added.
