NITI Aayog Member Rajiv Gauba said the next generation of government reforms will shift from a principle of "prohibited unless permitted" to "permitted unless prohibited". He highlighted the need to reduce "regulatory cholesterol" and remove excessive clearances. "Necessary licences should have perpetual or long-term validity. There should be no requirement for frequent renewals," he added.
