Employees of Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) went on an indefinite strike on Friday, affecting public transport services in Mumbai. Among demands of employees are merger of BEST's budget with that of BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation), a one-time settlement of legal dues of retired employees and implementation of Seventh Pay Commission recommendations for 2016-2026 period.
