Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz said it was debatable whether the expanded 48-team FIFA World Cup had enhanced the tournament. "I never [saw] in my life common things...that become huge value", the 73-year-old said. Queiroz added, "So the number of teams that qualify for the World Cup, I'm afraid that can turn this competition into ​a vulgar, ordinary competition."
