Lucknow Super Giants pacer Prince Yadav, who made his IPL debut against Delhi Capitals on Monday, hails from Delhi. The 23-year-old right-arm bowler has featured in two first-class, six List A and eight T20 matches. Prince was Delhi's leading wicket-taker in the 2024-25 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, picking 11 wickets in 6 matches at an average of 22.
'Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai' actor Aasif Sheikh collapses during shoot, rushed to hospital

'Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai' actor Aasif Sheikh, who portrays Vibhuti Narayan Mishra in the sitcom, was rushed to a hospital after he collapsed during the show's shoot in Dehradun, multiple reports said. The actor has now been flown down to Mumbai for further medical attention. Makers of the show are yet to issue an official statement on his health.

ATM cash withdrawals to become costlier as RBI approves fee hike

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved a hike in ATM interchange fees, making cash withdrawals costlier by ₹2, effective from 1st May, 2025. The fee for financial transactions at ATMs now stands at ₹19. The fee for non-financial transactions at ATMs has also been hiked by ₹1 to ₹7. RBI had previously revised the fees in 2021.

Supreme Court collegium approves transfer of judge in whose house cash was found

Supreme Court Collegium, consisting of CJI Sanjiv Khanna, on Monday recommended transfer of Delhi HC judge Justice Yashwant Varma to Allahabad HC. Delhi HC registry withdrew judicial work assigned to him after a huge amount of cash was discovered at his home during a fire-fighting operation earlier. Varma originally belonged to Allahabad HC and was brought to Delhi in 2021.

Govt hikes salary, daily allowance & pension of MPs

Central government on Monday announced a hike in salary, daily allowance and pension of members of Parliament (MPs) and former MPs, with effect from 1st April, 2023. MPs will now draw ₹1.24 lakh monthly salaries, up 24% from ₹1 lakh per month. Their daily allowance has been increased from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500 and monthly pension from ₹25,000 to ₹31,000.

Sensex jumps 1,000 points

The Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, opened on a strong note, extending gains as both traded in positive territory. The Sensex is steadily trending upwards, up over 1,000 points while the Nifty is trading around the 23,600 mark. The S&P BSE Senses added 1,003.06 points to 77,908.57, while NSE Nifty50 gained 286.95 points to 23,637.35 as of 12:37 pm.

Tamim suffers massive heart attack during Dhaka Premier League match, put on life support

Ex-Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal suffered massive heart attack during a Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match on Monday. The 36-year-old has been put on life support at a hospital in Savar, on outskirts of Dhaka. "It is a difficult time for all of us. He is currently under observation," Dr Debashish Chowdhury, chief physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board said.
