Govt extends EV scheme, cuts electric two-wheeler subsidy by half

The government has extended the PM E-DRIVE scheme by two years to March 31, 2028. Incentives for electric two-wheelers have been halved to ₹2,500 per kWh, capped at ₹5,000 per vehicle, for models priced up to ₹1.5 lakh. The scheme's total outlay remains unchanged at ₹11,900 crore, the Heavy Industries Ministry said.
