Sony and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) announced that they plan to form a new joint venture to develop and manufacture "next-generation" image sensors. The venture will be majorly owned by Sony and will set up development and production at its fabrication plant in Japan. Both firms also plan to explore opportunities in physical AI applications like robotics and automotive.
