UK's net migration dropped 48% to 1.7 lakh in 2025 from 3.3 lakh a year earlier, national statistics showed. The figure is the lowest in the country since 2012, excluding the Covid-19 pandemic period and saw a sharp decline from the record peak of 9.4 lakh in 2023. The number of asylum seekers was down 12% compared to last year.
