US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to loosen federal regulations on marijuana, downgrading it from a Schedule I (most dangerous) drug to a Schedule III (comprising prescription painkillers) drug. The move however stopped short of legalising the psychoactive plant. This is among the most significant federal changes to America's marijuana policy in decades.
