Chinese e-commerce firm Alibaba has agreed to pay $600 million to settle a US probe into allegations that it failed to prevent sales of illegal drugs on the platform. The Justice Department said Alibaba, as part of the agreement, admitted it had failed to prevent about 80,000 illegal sales between 2016 and 2024. The transaction value was over $200 million.
