Investors lose ₹5.42 lakh crore in hours as Sensex plunges 850 points from day's high

Indian stock markets saw increased volatility on Tuesday as they swung significantly in the early hours of trading. Sensex plunged nearly 850 points from the day's high while Nifty moved nearly 300 points between the day's high and low. Sensex's swing made investors lose ₹5,42,419 crore in just a few hours as BSE-listed firms' market value hit ₹477.67 lakh crore.
