Unusual ozone layer detected over Bay of Bengal

Scientists have detected an unusually high concentration of ozone in upper atmosphere over North Bay of Bengal, helping researchers better understand how air currents transport ozone through stratosphere. The unusually thick ozone layer was found at an altitude of 21-23 kilometres in lower stratosphere. The concentration of ozone was significantly higher than normally observed over eastern India.
