Defence Minister Rajnath Singh approved expansion of definition of 'family' for allotment of government accommodation to service officers. The revised definition includes parents, dependent siblings and legally adopted children, in addition to existing coverage of spouse & dependent children/step-children. It will benefit single women officers residing with parents, the government said.
