Pakistan asks US for $10 billion to boost forex reserves

Pakistan has reportedly asked US for a $10 billion Bilateral Exchange Stabilisation Support Facility to strengthen its foreign exchange reserves and support the rupee. The country is currently under a $7 billion IMF programme and continues to rely heavily on official financing, loan rollovers and deposits from countries such as China and Saudi Arabia to maintain its foreign exchange reserves.
