Vegetables grown along Yamuna in Delhi contain high levels of heavy metals: Study

A University of Delhi study, published in Energy Nexus journal, found high levels of heavy metals in vegetables grown along Yamuna in Delhi. Researchers detected elevated nickel, chromium, cadmium, lead and other metals in crops including radish, spinach, coriander and mustard. "The study identified unacceptable cancer risks tied to consumption of these vegetables," researchers said.
