23-year-old Asmita Dey creates history, wins India's first-ever judo gold in CWG
Asmita Dey won India's first-ever judo gold medal in Commonwealth Games (CWG) history. The 23-year-old defeated Canada's Heidi Quach in the women's 48kg final in CWG 2026 in Glasgow. Overall, it is India's 12th judo medal in CWG history. India have now won four gold medals and overall 18 medals in CWG 2026.
