1st FIR filed under Maha's new anti-conversion law against 22-yr-old in Pune

Pune Police registered first FIR under Maharashtra's new Freedom of Religion Act, 2026, on August 5. The case was filed against a 22-year-old man from UP, accused of asking a minor with whom he was in relationship to convert from her religion. Days later, a British national was booked for allegedly trying to convert people to Christianity at religious gathering.
