Former Union Minister and BJP leader Dinesh Trivedi has been appointed India's next high commissioner to Bangladesh, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement on Monday. It added that he is likely to take up the assignment shortly. Trivedi will replace Pranay Verma, who is set to move to Brussels as India's ambassador to the European Union.
