Sensex jumps over 800 points, Nifty up over 1% as vote counting underway in 5 states/UT
The Indian stock market opened in green on Monday as vote counting remained underway for Assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry. Sensex jumped over 830 points to hit a high of 77,746.79, while Nifty rose over 1% to an intraday high of 24,245.85. As per early trends, BJP is leading in West Bengal and Assam.
