LG Ladakh hails IAF's record IL-76 landing at Nyoma

Ladakh LG Vinai Kumar Saxena congratulated the IAF after its IL-76MD heavy-lift aircraft landed at Nyoma Airbase in Changthang district at 13,700 feet — the highest-altitude landing ever achieved by the IL-76 globally. Located ~25 km from the LAC with China, the feat marks a major boost to India's forward-deployment capabilities in high-altitude regions.
