Gastroenterologist Dr Ashok Kumar said warm milk may help reduce emotional stress and create calming effect, but it may not suit everyone before bedtime. People with acidity or those trying to lose weight should avoid it at night, as milk can cause gas, diarrhea or heartburn. Milk's nutrients remain the same whether consumed in morning or at night, he added.
