Longer meal intervals linked to faster disease accumulation in older adults: Study
A Karolinska Institute study found that older adults with longer intervals between meals accumulated chronic diseases more rapidly than those with shorter intervals. People whose longest interval between meals in a typical day was 14-24 hours had faster disease accumulation than those with intervals of 6-11.5 hours. The study analysed health data of 2,981 adults aged 60 and older.
