Nearly 2 mn people evacuated in China as Typhoon Bavi makes landfall

Nearly 2 million people were evacuated from China's coastal city of Taizhou as Typhoon Bavi made landfall on Saturday. Typhoon Bavi had maximum sustained winds of around 144 km per hour when it made landfall. Authorities said Typhoon Bavi is slowing down and weakening but is still a risk due to the large volume of moisture in its rain bands.
