UP govt proposes 'no helmet, no fuel' rule to curb road accidents

UP government proposed a strict "no helmet, no fuel" policy to reduce road accidents and fatalities involving two-wheelers. In an official letter, the Transport Department directed fuel station operators not to sell fuel to two-wheeler riders, including the pillion, who aren't wearing helmets. Earlier, CM Yogi Adityanath said 25,000-26,000 lives are lost due to accidents in the state.
