What is Godzilla El Niño?

A powerful El Niño developing in the Pacific Ocean could become the strongest ever recorded, and has been nicknamed "Godzilla El Niño". It occurs when Pacific sea surface temperatures rise about 2.5°C or more above normal, potentially disrupting weather patterns worldwide and pushing global temperatures to record highs. In India, the monsoon usually weakens during El Niño years.
