1,268 auto & taxi drivers get notices for lack of Marathi knowledge in Maharashtra
Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik said 1,268 commercial passenger vehicle drivers, mainly auto-rickshaw and taxi drivers, were issued notices for not having adequate knowledge of Marathi on first day of statewide checking on Thursday. Drivers were given one month to acquire working knowledge of Marathi, failing which their badges would be suspended for three months, Sarnaik added.
