SC rejects govt plea over ₹363-cr GST demand against Vodafone Idea

The Supreme Court has dismissed the Centre's appeal against a Bombay High Court ruling quashing a ₹363-crore GST demand against an erstwhile Vodafone Idea entity. The court upheld the view that tax proceedings cannot be continued against a company that ceased to exist following a merger. The dispute concerns GST proceedings against Vodafone Mobile Services Ltd (VMSL).
