Cabinet approves 92 GWh storage, critical minerals, stats overhaul

The Union Cabinet approved a 92 GWh grid-scale energy storage scheme — split into 30 GWh battery, 60 GWh pump storage, and 2 GWh emerging tech. It also cleared a critical minerals processing scheme for 24 minerals and a ₹4,371 crore plan to revamp India's national statistical system, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced.
