Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal defended the recent petrol and diesel price hike, saying the increase was limited and had not put major pressure on the public. "Keeping in mind that people should not face much trouble, PM [Modi] increased the rates very little…90%…burden has been taken by…government," Goyal said. Fuel prices have been hiked by around ₹3 per litre.
