Supreme Court sought responses from Election Commission and Bihar Panchayati Raj Minister Deepak Prakash on a plea challenging his continuance in office despite not being an elected MLA or MLC. Petition states Prakash was appointed in November 2025 and reappointed in May 2026 after Samrat Choudhary government took office. A non-legislator can serve for only six months, the plea added.
