K'taka needs 2nd Bengaluru to ease pressure on capital: NITI Aayog

NITI Aayog vice chairman Ashok Lahiri on Wednesday asked the Karnataka government to consider building a "second Bengaluru" to reduce pressure on the capital. Lahiri added that Karnataka has potential to grow rapidly, and a plan should be developed to grow more produce in the state's dryland areas. CM DK Shivkumar said the suggestions would be incorporated into a plan.
