SC allows Delhi govt to cut 13,000 babool, eucalyptus trees, replace them with neem, peepal trees

Supreme Court has allowed Delhi government to remove over 13,000 trees of invasive species across a 70-hectare Central Ridge area and replace them with trees of indigenous species. The court noted that invasive species like vilayati keekar, babool and eucalyptus need to be replaced by neem, banyan, peepal, jamun and amaltas. Delhi government had sought urgent orders from the court.
