Walt Disney names Indian-origin Karandeep Anand its first CTO

Walt Disney on Friday named Indian-origin Karandeep Anand its first chief technology officer, effective October 2. The appointment comes as AI and sweeping industry consolidation disrupt the media landscape. Anand most recently served as CEO of generative AI chatbot service Character.AI. He will oversee enterprise technology, AI platforms and engineering across the company's business segments.
