NASA captures spiral galaxy located 55 million light-years away

short by Girish Kumar Anshul / on Saturday, 19 September, 2026
NASA's Hubble Space Telescope has captured an image of NGC 4698, a spiral galaxy located about 55 million light-years away in Virgo constellation. Unlike typical spiral galaxies, its central bulge extends at right angle to its disk, while stars and gas near centre rotate differently. Astronomers believe the unusual structure may have resulted from gas inflow or a past merger.
