Iran's 'crown jewel', Kharg Island, which the US bombed on Friday, is a small, 7.7-square-mile coral island around 300 miles from the Strait of Hormuz. Around 90% of all Iranian oil exports flow through the island, as its coastline has deep waters where very large crude tankers can load crude. Around 1.3-1.6 million barrels of oil pass through Kharg daily.
