Satellite-tagged Amur falcons return to India after travelling across 23 countries

Two satellite-tagged Amur falcons, Apapang and Alang, have returned to Manipur after travelling across 23 countries during their year-long migration. Tagged by Wildlife Institute of India scientists in November 2025, they arrived from northeastern China after an 11-day journey. They will spend two to three weeks in Tamenglong feeding on termites before flying nearly 6,000 km non-stop to Somalia.
