Kerala’s Girija Madhu, who once ran a tailoring business to support her family, began training children with cerebral palsy in football out of passion for the sport. She once mortgaged her gold jewellery, raising nearly ₹2 lakh to send 20 young players to their first national tournament. Her team has won five national tournaments, including Khelo India Para Games 2023.
