Why is crude oil below $100 despite Middle East supplying less of it?
Despite the Middle East supplying less oil, Brent has remained below $100/barrel. This is because about 4-5 million barrels are still flowing through Strait of Hormuz on average daily, and Gulf producers are using alternative export routes. Non-OPEC producers like US, Canada and Guyana are increasing oil production and China has large oil inventories, reducing overall demand, Reuters reported.
