Microsoft's AI tool outperforms general physicians in complex cases: Study

Microsoft researchers developed an AI tool that diagnoses patients step by step, as doctors do. In tests involving difficult clinical cases, the system was more than twice as accurate as general physicians at identifying the underlying condition, according to a study. The tool also outperformed human physicians when presented with scenarios drawn from a major database of emergency room admissions.
