Publishers sue Google alleging Gemini was trained on copyrighted books

Several publishers have filed a lawsuit against Google claiming that the firm's AI model Gemini was trained illegally using copyrighted books without consent. The lawsuit also alleges that Google intentionally removed or changed copyright information on these works to conceal that its models were trained on them. Google used its services like Google Books to repurpose books, the lawsuit claimed.
