5-year-old Anthropic has more cash than almost every US company

Anthropic, the five-year-old AI startup behind Claude, had $131.7 billion in cash and short-term investments as of 30 June, according to its IPO filing. Its cash reserves exceed those of every non-bank US company except Berkshire Hathaway ($365.5 billion) and Google-parent Alphabet ($242.5 billion). The startup had more cash than major companies such as Amazon, SpaceX, Meta and Microsoft.
