E coli bacteria found in drinking water at 8 railway stations: CAG

The CAG found E coli bacteria in drinking water samples from water coolers at eight railway stations, including CSMT, Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Palakkad Junction. Its audit of 512 non-suburban stations also found bacteriological analysis wasn't conducted at 59 stations across six zones. Overall, 458 of the 512 stations were deficient in at least one Minimum Essential Amenities, the report said.
