The Punjab and Haryana High Court cancelled the ongoing recruitment of 613 assistant professors saying the selection criteria violated UGC norms. The court has directed the higher education department to initiate a fresh recruitment process. The court said UGC norms require candidates to be short-listed for interview based on academic scores, but the recruitment followed a three-stage process.
