IIIT Lucknow closed, exams postponed as Gomti floodwater enters premises

Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Lucknow, will remain closed till Sunday after a major part of its premises was flooded due to the swollen Gomti River. Scheduled examinations have been postponed until further notice, while electricity has been cut off over safety concerns. Of the 800 hostellers, 500 have been relocated to safer places, while 300 have returned home.
