Bombay HC temporarily restrains Dabur from using 'NEEM' prominently on toothpaste label
Bombay High Court temporarily restrained Dabur India from using "NEEM" as the prominent feature on its toothpaste label following a trademark suit by Jyothy Labs, Live Law reported. It rejected Dabur’s claim that "NEEM" was generic, saying it could use the word descriptively but not as a source-identifying feature. Jyothy Labs claimed its predecessor adopted "NEEM" for toothpaste around 1920.
