Norway is imposing a near-ban on generative AI tools in primary schools. Students in lower secondary schools will be allowed to use AI cautiously under teacher supervision, while those in upper secondary education will be taught to use the technology responsibly in preparation for higher education and work. The new rules will take effect in late August.
