Centre said it took note of a US bill that seeks to change H-1B and L-1 visa programmes. It said that for Indian professionals, the proposed changes could raise hiring costs and make it harder for US employers to sponsor/renew visas. They might shift some of the work back to India, or it might make obtaining permanent residency difficult.
