Indonesia's central bank governor Perry Warjiyo stepped down on Monday, two years before his term was due to end. Interim governor Destry Damayanti said he resigned for personal reasons. His sudden exit came after the rupiah hit record lows in June amid soaring energy costs and escalating regional conflict, fuelling speculation over the timing of his departure.
