RBI is planning to mandate banks to report at least 70% of rupee derivative trades happening outside India starting February 2027, Reuters reported, citing sources. This would bring more transparency to the foreign exchange market. Domestic banks are already required to follow the practice, while foreign lenders only report trades by their Indian units and ​not those by offshore ones.
